I've
always had a bit of a problem keeping up with things.
Only
the other week there I remarked to my SO that I'd recently noticed
that
(a)A
dance called the Charleston seemed to have lately found favour among
the fast set and that (b)Mr Hitler would bear some watching.
So,
if I mention "Rick Rolling" and you all snigger and say
"dude, that's so last week" please feel free to sue me.
The Rick being rolled is mid-80s squawky crooner, Mr Astley, and
at the time of writing, various iterations of said rolling are all
over the web we are relaxed about describing as world and indeed
wide.
I
liked this take on the phenomenon which is coincidentally being
served up by a Canadian site "Fjetsam"
and no, I've no idea what that word means either. But be fair, at
least it's a Canadian site that isn't exclusively about hockey or
le hockey (depending on your linguistic bent), so well done the
Canucks for developing a wider cultural palette.
As
clumsy and embarrassing as my attempts are to (ahem) "get down
with the kids", I'm gratified to find that even more august
Scottish institutions can get it even wronger than me. Without further
comment can I direct your clicking finger to the website of the
Scottish
Conservative Party who have introduced an "interesting
" product line with a view to engaging with the young people.
Further words fail me.
Finally,
here's one for all you gamers out there. Anyone who's ever shat
themselves playing one of the more scary bits of Half Life 1 or
2 will recognise the feeling behind the design featured in the You
Tube clip below.
OK, so it's less scary once you work out how it's done, but still,
you wouldn't want this monstrosity clicking and whirring its way
towards you along a darkened corridor in Black Mesa when all you've
got left is the crowbar and one clip of 9mm ammo Brrr, scary:
