Airfare Warfare hots up - new player on Scotland-Dublin routes.
The gloves came off this week in the battle between airlines flying between Scottish cities and Dublin with Go and RyanAir slogging it out over price.

RyanAir Chief Dermot O' Plausible promised a return fare of 50p between the Irish capital and Edinburgh. "Let's see Go beat that one. And for only £200 more you can opt to have a seat inside the plane instead of hanging on the wing and hoping for the best."

New entrant into the air war, Flaherty Flying Services of Limerick aim to trump existing operators offers. "For the price of a Go or RyanAir ticket we'll give you a plane to keep. Considering that a 737 comes in at £30m, it’s the bargain of the century. We can't lose," said Chief Executive Shamus O'Stereotype while doing that funny hands at your side dancing the Irish get up to.

The airfare warfare can only be good for Dublin's tourist trade an Irish Tourist Board source told the JT. "Cheap flights to Dublin from Scotland will encourage our celtic cousins to experience the attractions of our capital and everyone coming off the flights will receive a complimentary valium. That way when they get charged £5 punts for a Guinness it won't seem so bad."

Not to be outdone, EasyJet supremo Stelios Something or Other plans to offer cheap flights between Edinburgh and Dublin - with only minimal detours via Luton, Majorca and Athens -"It's still marginally quicker than walking" the fat Greek bloke told the JT.
