Minister admits : prisoner transit policy has gone missing.
Under fire Justice Minister, Cathy Jamieson admitted last night that the Executive’s prisoner transit policy has given her the slip. The admission comes just a week after private security firm (ahem) "Reliance" managed to lose a convicted murderer.

Ray of sunshine and tonic for the nation Cathy told The JT: "The policy document was lying on my desk, I turned away for a moment and it was gone. But don’t worry, like the escaped killer, it’ll turn up eventually. Probably."

The latest shock news comes after the private security firm admitted a mix-up in documentation led to the prisoner shooting the craw, as a company source now explains: "There is a deal of documentation involved in transferring prisoners from jail to court, and we now accept that giving the accused a "Get Out OfJail Free" card is perhaps sending out the wrong message."

Nicola Sturgeon, The SNP’s spokesfish on jail-related matters, demanded Ms Jamieson’s resignation, telling Radio Scotland : "Cathy Jamieson sounds very much as if she is trying to shut the stable door after the horse - or in this case the prisoner - has bolted."

Ms Sturgeon then smirked, highly pleased with herself for delivering what, in the world of fish, passes for an inventive and not at all pish sound bite.

It is thought that if the scandal forces a return to the back benches, Ms Jamieson will spend more time on working on her sparkling and bubbly personality, a continuing joy to the world in these dark times.

Inside: Reliance to review policy of taking at face value prisoners’ promise not to run away.
