Free money scheme a totally unsurprising hit with Executive Ministers.
Tawny Trot, Tommy Sheridan, revealed this week that Executive Ministers domiciled more than 90 minutes travel time from Holyrood can claim up to £10,500 of other people’s money to (ahem) "defray" additional living costs.

The scheme not surprisingly has led the lucky ministers to engage in a bit of property speculation, buying and selling property in Edinburgh.

Former Minister and full-time speccy twat, Jim Wallace, has defended this property speculation paid for by the tax-payer on the grounds that any equity gain would be subject to tax - thus paying the public purse back. An explanation that on first reading makes sense until one recalls that its public money that’s paying for the private gain in the first place.

A parliament spokesman (and I swear I’m not making this up) defended the scheme on the grounds that MSPs had approved the scam, sorry, scheme.

Which leads Professor Beaker of Edinburgh’s School Of Well, Duhr Studies to tell The JT:  "Most rational people, MSPs included, will respond to the question ‘would you like some free money?’ by saying ‘yes, please!’  MSPs might be a bit thick but they’re not going to turn down free money."

Inside: In-bound commuters to Edinburgh! Do you live more than a 90 minute commute from your work? Why not ask your gaffer for £10K extra a year to help out a bit!

Go on, ask. We could all use a good laugh in these troubled times.
