DNA: Wha’s like ye?
An Oxford company this week launched a computer program that allows you to trace your DNA back 40000 years, Unfortunately it’ll cost you £180.

As a service to JT readers, and as an excuse to recycle old gags, this week we present a cut out and keep guide of source material to allow Scots to trace their lineage back through the mists of time.

After using this guide you will truly be able to say of another in disparaging terms : "I kent his faither" and be able to back it up.

Neolithic settlements, that’s far back Isn’t it?

While, over in Fife, compelling evidence that human life once thrived there. But, now sadly defunct.

Moving on, and those IKEA toting Norsemen (ahem) "injected" welcome diversity into our collective DNA.

God, would ye look at the time? it’s the Middle Ages already and a home win is set fair to cause controversy for the next 800 years.

There you go, we’re up to the 1300s already. Enough to be going on with this week I think.

Inside: Next week: Famine, pestilence and war. Yes, it's giro day in Airdrie.
