| Ms Lorraine Kelly,
presenter of GMTVs programme for wummin, has been elected as student rector at
Dundee University. Lorraine has promised that the problems facing students will be
addressed during her year in office. She told The JT: "Its obvious that the
whole question of student debt has to be addressed, more on that later, but now,
combination skin: just how do you deal with it?"
Warming to her theme, Ms Kelly expressed fear that student top-up fees being introduced
in England might negatively impact on Scotland: "A university like Dundee with world
class staff might find academics being lured south - its a real problem - as is
refreshing your summer wardrobe for less than £100." |
Of pressing concern, Ms
Kelly argued , was the whole area of student health generally, with many undergrads forced
to work part-time to support their studies: "There's a real danger of student
burn-out, almost as dangerous as those hidden hazards in the kitchen that we need to be on
the lookout for." Long time viewer of Lorraines morning show, Agnes Anxiety,
expressed fears that Lorraines new job might mean she has less time for GMTV.
"I look forward to seeing Lorraines cheery wee face in the morning. It gives me
a real boost and keeps me going til my first Temazepam of the day kicks in." |
