| Staff at The Scotsman
newspaper insisted this week that they were right behind moves to reduce the paper to
tabloid size for the Saturday edition. Group Editor and follically peculiar
supercomputer SkyNeil is said to have been impressed by tabloid versions of English
newspapers, as a handily available Scotsman hack now explains:
"Andrew, in his God-like omniscience,
takes a keen interest in nano-technology and reducing the Scotsman to tabloid size is only
his latest innovation. Hes really obsessed with making things really small. As a
cursory glance at The Scotsmans recent circulation figures will attest, its a
long standing interest of his." |
This is not the first
brave innovation the metallised marketing genius that is SkyNeil has introduced. As
reported in the JT some years ago, he launched "S2" a tabloid feature supplement
somewhat similar in format (as in: identical in format) to The Guardians
"G2". Angered by charges of plagiarism at the time, SkyNeil insisted that S2
wasnt a pale rip off but a brave and innovative step forward. Indeed, such a brave
and blah blah that the S2 supplement eventually ended up absorbed back into the main
broadsheet.
It is thought that Skyneil will now turn his attentions to other miniaturisation
projects - specifically, further shrinking the size of the Barclay Brothers current
account as he thinks up yet another get-poor-quick scheme. |
