Private schools do a lot for charity, will like to talk about it…
Reform of charity law in Scotland will mean that private schools must, from now on, explain why they should be considered charities and thus exempt from company taxes. For a suitably large fee, school managers may use any of the following excuses, sorry, reasons.
  • Provide menial work to ill-dressed poor people reeking of lard.
  • School sports facilities made available to the wider community - between 3am and 5am on the 29th of February in applicable years.
  • Occasional scholarships awarded to the offspring of the unwashed with 300 point IQs. Kids from poor backgrounds with average intelligence need not apply.
  • Kids with average intelligence from rich backgrounds may apply, fee supplements may apply.
  • Private schools: a shining exemplar of the adage "charity begins at home."
