MSPs in fruitless quest to appeal to Bank’s conscience
In a touching demonstration of why our MSPs shouldn’t be let out on their own, they appealed this week to HBOS, the bank at the centre of The Farepak fiasco.

As skint punters look forward to a presentless Xmas after losing their savings to the Farepak mob, MSPs demanded the bank up the 2m quid it’s putting into the rescue fund on the basis that it’s the right thing to do.

Don’t haud your breath, for the 2m offered constitutes a princely 3% of the profit the bank made when Farepak bosses used savers money to service the company’s overdraft and there’s no sign of that remaining 48m moving anywhere soon.

A banksspokespenonachain told The JT: "I confess we’re confused. The MSPs talked something about conscience and appealing to our better nature.

We've no idea what they’re referring to as these concepts are not used in banking."

Indeed, the bank’s position heralds a brave new postmodern take on the Xmas season. Traditionally seen as a time for the giving and receiving of gifts, the affected families have gifted the bank 50 million quid and now will receive nothing in return.

Yo Ho, fuckin’ ho.
