| In a move designed to
deflect criticism of the station's dramatic output, senior management at BBC Scotland
promised that the new series "Tinsel Town" would be only the start in
re-invigorating output. The bastard cloning
of elements of This Life, Trainspotting and any number of derivative undergraduate wank
fantasies, "Tinsel Town" features a group of Glaswegian twentysomethings who
spend all their time shagging, clubbing, doing drugs and then shagging some more, while
swearing. |
Management at the
station's drama department (average age:105) insisted that the series proved that BBC
Scotland was not boring but was in fact, bitchin', happening, in yer face and down with
the kids, or something. "This is raw
drama, coming up from the mean disaffected streets of Glasgow's alienated youth"
claimed the fortysomething, university-educated, middle-class head of Drama. |
